Ultralec P (Lecithin)

Ultralec P, also known as lecithin, is a nutrient found in specific foods. Lecithin supplements are known to have potential health benefits such as reducing cholesterol levels, improving ulcerative colitis symptoms, and promoting brain function.

The supplements are also used to treat clogged milk ducts during breastfeeding. A study published in the Journal of Cholesterol found that soy lecithin reduced the levels of low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol by 56% after two months. However, it is important to note that the evidence is still limited.

The recommended dosage of Ultralec P is 1-2 tablespoons (7.5-30 grams) per day. Adverse effects of lecithin supplements are usually not associated with lecithin, but some studies have reported nausea, diarrhea, stomach pain, fullness, sweating, and increased salivation, especially with large intakes of more than 25 g per day. Lecithin is generally recognized as safe by the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
