Soy Bean Extract
Soy Bean Extract is derived from soybeans and is known to have numerous health benefits. Soybeans and soy foods can reduce the risk of various health problems, including cardiovascular disease, stroke, coronary heart disease, and some cancers, as well as improving bone health.
Soy alleviates hot flashes, improves renal function, alleviates depressive symptoms, and improves skin health. Eating large amounts of soy might help prevent breast cancer or breast cancer recurrence in some people.
The therapeutic dosage of soy supplements ranged from 40-70 mg. The recommended dosage is a few times a week in moderation, which is unlikely to have any side effects, but taking soy supplements may cause mild stomach and intestinal side effects such as constipation, bloating, and nausea. Long-term use of soy supplements may result in abnormal tissue growth in the uterus, as well as having a negative effect on the developing reproductive system of assigned females.
While there are negative effects of soy in certain situations, soy is unique in that it contains a high concentration of isoflavones, a type of plant estrogen that is similar in function to human estrogen but with much weaker effects. A review of 13 randomized controlled trials found that in about half of the studies, isoflavone supplementation had a beneficial effect. There is a need for further research as questions remain about a possible benefit of soy.
