Pterostilbene 99%

Pterostilbene 99% is a dietary supplement that is derived from blueberries and Pterocarpus marsupium heartwood. It is a dimethylated derivative of resveratrol, which is commonly referred to as a ‘better resveratrol’.

Pterostilbene has been found to have antioxidative, anti-inflammatory, anti-carcinogenic, and anti-metastasis properties. It has been suggested that low-dosage pterostilbene supplements may improve cholesterol metabolism. Pterostilbene is also considered safe to consume, and no adverse effects have been reported up to a dose of 250 mg per day. According to, the recommended dosage of pterostilbene is as follows:

  • 215-430mg for a 150lb person
  • 290-580mg for a 200lb person
  • 365-730mg for a 250lb person

It is important to note that high doses of pterostilbene may cause some side effects such as increased LDL cholesterol levels. However, compared to medications that are prescribed to treat symptoms like high cholesterol and other common health problems, pterostilbene is much less likely to cause side effects.

One study found that oral pterostilbene demonstrated a 29% decrease in plasma low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol and a 7% increase in high-density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol. Another study found that pterostilbene has potential as an anti-metastasis agent. Additionally, pterostilbene has been found to protect against inflammation, oxidative stress, certain types of cancer, neurological disorders and memory loss, diabetes, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol.
