Oregano Powder

Oregano powder is a powdered form of the herb oregano, which is commonly used to flavor foods. Oregano contains chemicals that may help with digestion and fight against some bacteria and viruses. Studies suggest that oregano powder may help reduce low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol, increase high-density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol, relieve inflammation, regulate blood sugar and lipids, and fight cancer. Additionally, oregano oil has been shown to kill certain parasites in the intestines. However, further research is needed to confirm the benefits of using oregano powder.

The recommended dosage varies depending on the form of the supplement and the intended use. There is no clinical evidence to support specific therapeutic doses of oregano. Mild side effects may include stomach upset, while larger doses may cause nausea, vomiting, or allergic reactions. As with any supplement, it is recommended to speak with a healthcare provider before adding oregano powder to your diet.

Case studies:
  • Clinical research shows that taking oregano after each meal for 3 months can reduce LDL cholesterol and increase HDL cholesterol.
  • A study found that oregano oil showed “significant antibacterial activity” against 11 microbes, suggesting that substances in oregano could play a role in fighting diseases that no longer respond to antibiotics.
  • Other studies show that oregano oil is beneficial for treating recurring respiratory disorders, tumor growth, and rheumatoid arthritis.
