Lycopene 10% Beadlet
Lycopene is a powerful antioxidant belonging to the family of compounds called carotenoids, known for their ability to neutralize harmful free radicals. Found abundantly in red fruits and vegetables, like tomatoes and watermelons, lycopene is most commonly associated with promoting heart health and supporting cancer prevention.
Lycopene 10% Beadlet refers to a supplement formulation designed to enhance the bioavailability of lycopene. The beadlet technology encapsulates the lycopene in a protective shell, allowing it to be more easily absorbed by the body. The ‘10%’ signifies the concentration of lycopene in the supplement, meaning each beadlet consists of 10% lycopene.
Lycopene 10% Beadlet is used for high blood pressure, high cholesterol, cancer, and many other conditions. Although there is no good scientific evidence to support most of these uses, several epidemiological studies have linked increased lycopene consumption with decreased prostate cancer risk. Lycopene has also been shown to reduce serum lipid peroxidation and LDL oxidation.
A study conducted by Hoppe et al. showed that synthetic lycopene administered through Lycopene 10% Beadlet was bioavailable and safe for human consumption. The recommended dosage of Lycopene 10% Beadlet is 15-45 mg daily for up to 6 months. When taken in supplements, doses of 15-45 mg daily have been safely used for up to 6 months. There are no known side effects of Lycopene 10% Beadlet when taken in recommended doses.
Case studies:
- A study conducted by Rao and Agarwal demonstrated that lycopene intake levels varied from 5 to 75 mg/day in tomato juice, tomato sauce, and nutritional supplements in healthy humans. No adverse effects due to lycopene consumption were observed.
