Bitter Orange Ext. 6%

Bitter Orange Ext. 6% is an extract derived from the Citrus aurantium plant, commonly known as bitter orange. It contains the primary protoalkaloid p-synephrine, which has been studied for its potential benefits in weight loss and athletic performance.

According to a study published in the Annals of Pharmacotherapy, a group of overweight participants who consumed a product containing bitter orange extract lost an average of 4.63 kg over six weeks with no adverse side effects. However, other studies have shown that bitter orange may raise blood pressure and heart rate, especially when taken with caffeine or other stimulants. Therefore, it is important to consult with a healthcare provider before taking bitter orange extract.

A systematic review and meta-analysis published in Nutrients found that p-synephrine has milder side effects than ephedrine, but its safety and efficacy have not yet been thoroughly studied. Another study published in Pharmacotherapy found that a single dose of bitter orange extract did not prolong QTc-interval or have hemodynamic effects in healthy subjects.

The recommended dosage of Bitter Orange Ext. 6% varies depending on the product and intended use. It is important to follow the instructions on the label and consult with a healthcare provider before taking any dietary supplement.
