Vitex Agnus Castus(Chaste Berry) 4:1 PE
Vitex Agnus Castus, also known as Chaste Berry, is a plant that is commonly used as an herbal supplement to treat a variety of health problems, particularly related to women’s reproductive health. Chaste Berry may enhance fertility, reduce symptoms of premenstrual syndrome (PMS), and menopause, and repel certain insects. Although many of the purported benefits of Chaste Berry are not backed by scientific research, it is generally considered safe for consumption.
A recommended dosage is 30-40 mg of dried fruit extracts, 3-6 grams of dried herb, or 1 gram of dried fruit per day. One clinical trial found that taking Chaste Berry for three menstrual cycles significantly reduced symptoms of PMS, including breast pain and tenderness, edema, constipation, irritability, and depressed mood.
Another study found that Chaste Berry improved symptoms of menopause, including hot flashes, bloating, irritability, sleep disturbances, and vaginal dryness. However, it is important to note that some people may experience side effects such as upset stomach, fatigue, and skin irritation. Pregnant and breastfeeding women should avoid taking Chaste Berry, as it may harm the fetus or make it more difficult to get pregnant.
